minecraft server - frustrating

I just finished making a server with Bukkit. I forgot how amazingly frustrating it is to get things to work the way you want them to. And of course me being me decided to get 1000 plugins that i will probably barely ever use that make my server lag horribly. *sigh*

downgraded back to 1.1

So i downgraded back to 1.1, and i got all my old mods back, plus trying to get one more and being unsuccessful :( Anyways a built a nice little house with toomanyitems and blew it up with mass amounts of tnt :D ahh, back to my old ways :D

12w04a is out with new stuff

If you haven`t already heard, 12w04a is out and it contains these things:

  • New jungle-specific mob that can be tamed
  • Skeletons have new AI and a few new behaviors
  • Various minor bug fixes and changes
  • Added an experience item to creative mode
  • Added a flame item…
  • Updated language files

Additionally, some players have been trying to track changes not otherwise noted, and here's what Reddit writer keozen has compiled so far:

  • A strange "well-type-thing" (technical term) people are finding in the desert
  • Jungle Tree Saplings (thanks Minecraftman1)
  • The textures for dispensers and saplings have been changed. (thanks Minecraftman1)
  • If a 2x2 square of Jungle Tree Saplings is made and one is fertilized with bone meal, a huge tree is made (Thank you, Wolfrose88 via Minecraftman1)
  • When Ocelots are bred, they will give birth to...KITTENS! They come in black, red or siamese. :o (thanks Minecraftman1)

new jungle mob teaser

Jeb released a new teaser of the new jungle mob... i know, its a bit misleading at first, but look behind the grass on the right side :O and, Mojang is taking a poll about how you play minecraft! Vote here.

favorite biome: jungles

I just started playing around with 12w03a ( minecraft week 3 snapshot) and i have to say, the jungles are probably instantly my favorite biome. I love the idea of being surrounded by trees and leaves and such. Check it out here and get it here.

Cube World

I have come across a game that has caught my eye... Cube World. It "looks like minecraft but plays like zelda". As far as i can tell, the game is still in development by ONE MAN. Apparently it is a mix of  Zelda, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Monster Hunter and more. The early screenshots will instantly remind you of minecraft, but with a 3d hack n' slash action part to the gameplay. Check it out here: http://www.gamezebo.com/games/cube-world/preview

Minecraft Texture Packs

Minecraft texture packs truly are a great thing. They can make your game gloomier, happier, higher graphics, funnier, more kid friendly, and even resemble your favorite video game! Of course, for me at least, i can never seem to find them. Luckily, I found this post on Minecraft Forums that fixes this problem. Though it is not as actively updated as most people would like, it still has quite a few texture packs. Check it out: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/861837-%EF%BD%A1%E2%98%85-texture-pack-central-%E2%98%85%EF%BD%A1/

Minecraft 1.1 is finally out

Minecraft 1.1 is out! it includes:
  • Bow Enchantments
  • Golden Apple recipe
  • New language translations.
  • Slightly smoothed color transitions between biomes
  • Reduced brewing time to 20 seconds
  • Added spawn eggs to creative (the colors of the eggs even look like the mobs)
  • Added world type options (currently only super-flat and default)
  • Removed collision box from ladders
  • Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
And tons of bugfixes, of course.

land generation

OMG YES. Jeb is working on new land generation, which is supposed to be less flat :D plus he added a flat world option :O read more about it here. And, the Star Wars content contest is going on right now. Some of this stuff is pretty impressive.
